"Oh you men only want one thing!" It was true I thought, but that was well before the time of the 24-hour sports channels and all the liquor stores were closed that time of night; . . . so I went for backup plan C and we went to her place. Thirty-six years later I was at a party talking to a friend about Sarah Palin and three liberal gals stepped up in time to hear me say, "You're probably right, I think she's the only woman in America that could get elected president right now."
"Oh, Sarah Palin is so stupid!"said the first one. "Yes, a real ninny!" "Dumb, dumb, dumb" said the last one. When asked about what "precisely" they were referring to, they gave me a bunch of generalities "Oh, everything about her," etc., etc. So I decided to go on the attack. I mentioned that I'd noticed that a lot of people think they do but most don't really understand things very deeply, for example, (they were all mothers and two were mothers to be again) did you know that Simone de Beavouir didn't want women to have the choice to become mothers? You know Betty Friedan agreed with her and even called the home "a comfortable concentration camp?" and Gloria Steinhem said, "every act of heterosexual intercourse, even on the marriage bed, is an act of rape!" Did you know that?
Rajjpuut had very much the reputation of being a man with facts close at hand to backup his words so they three shifted uncomfortably. "Those things were a long time ago,"the unpregnant one said.
"Not that long ago, but . . . Sarah Palin with that little Down's Syndrome child that's pretty darn "now," isn't it?"
"What's that mean?"
"For women who back abortion and will base all their voting on just that one thing, abortion, I mean, it must be aggravating to see someone who walks the walk you can't even imagine."
"Go back to your dreams, Bob, you'll never understand women."
"Sorry ladies, I understand liberal women all too well."
And I got two quick (and one slow) tongues stuck out at me for my troubles, ah well.
